We’ve split meetings into two sections
(Future and Past)

Harrogate Town Council meets as a ‘Full Council’ (all 19 councillors) once a month. It also conducts some of its business through committees and sub-committees.

The Planning Committee usually meets every three weeks to consider consultations on planning applications and development related matters. Harrogate Town Council acts as consultees only on planning applications.
North Yorkshire Council is the planning authority which takes the decisions as to whether permission is granted or not. All planning applications are available to view on the North Yorkshire Council Public Access website.

The Finance & General Purposes Committee meets every month to scrutinise the council’s finances and manage other projects.

The Staffing Committee meets on an ad hoc basis to manage personnel matters.

The Harrogate Neighbourhood Plan Group is a sub-committee formed to take forward preparation of the Neighbourhood Plan.

All of our meetings are open to the public, with time set aside at the start of the agenda for any questions or comments.

Meetings are usually held in Harrogate Civic Centre (HG1 2AE), but please check the relevant agenda to confirm dates, times and locations. Agendas and supporting information for each meeting will be made available below, at least three clear days in advance.

We also display copies of agendas, and other important information such as election notices, on the external noticeboard at Harrogate Civic Centre.
