I have lived in Harrogate for 30 years, including 23 years in the St George’s ward, and I am proud to serve as your local councillor. With 25 years’ experience as a local GP, I bring a deep understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of our community.
My professional background includes work with North Yorkshire Police as a forensic medical examiner and with North Yorkshire Social Services assessing mental health and dementia care needs. I have extensive experience of managing public finances and delivering outcomes with limited resources. I am also the Green Lead at my practice, taking part in the national Green Impact for Health initiative.
My community involvement spans many years: I supported Harrogate Grammar School as an active PTA fundraiser, helped fundraise for local food and clothing banks, and given free menopause talks to community groups. I recently completed a 100km night cycle in London to raise awareness about cancer screening.
I am a paying member of Harrogate BID and maintain close ties with our local hospitality sector. I have also met with neighbourhood police and local residents to discuss issues affecting our area.
I am committed to being a visible, accessible and proactive voice for St George’s.
