The election process is being administered by North Yorkshire Council, which has now issued the Notice of Election, election timetable and nomination papers. If more than one candidate puts their name forward, a poll will be held. If only one valid nomination is received, that candidate will be declared elected without a poll.
The cost of the election (if a poll is held) will be met by Harrogate Town Council.
Candidates are reminded that:
- nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer at North Yorkshire Council, Civic Centre, St Lukes Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 2AE;
- the deadline for submission is 4.00 pm on Friday 10 July 2026;
- candidates are encouraged to arrange an informal check of their papers before formal submission.
If you would like a nomination pack then you can find an electronic version below, or please contact the Elections Office on 0300 131 2131 or email elections@northyorks.gov.uk. Electors and candidates can also request polling district and electoral number details from the Elections Office by providing their name and address.
Please also note that the Electoral Commission guidance for parish council candidates is available for anyone completing nomination papers.
